What are the differences between a Smart TV, Lcd Tv and an LED TV?
I am looking into buying a new Television as I am creating a home theatre and was wondering the differences and which is better. Thanks in advance.
if they were all the same exact model here would be the differences.
LCD: came out first, was introduced in computer monitors, is cheaper to manufacture so prices will be cheaper
LED: is the successor to LCD, costs more, gives better black levels, better picture, and is usually thinner, and uses slightly less power.
Smart TV: adds a fancy menu to make things easier for you, which in my opinion just confuses most people with so many icons on the screen, a smart tv doesnt do anything different than a regular tv except that the menus are more tailored to people who want to use their tv as a multimedia monitor, such as web browsing, internet apps, dlna, hooking up your wireless devices and then streaming files over such as pics/movies/music.
Internet connectable: basically the same as smart tvs just with out the fancy menus. they can still do most things that a smart tv can.
In order of price and quality: LCD, LED, Internet connectable, Smart TV.
if you are the type that likes to constantly hook up his laptop to his tv then you might want to look into a smart tv, as it will save you time, but i would probably advise waiting till they are faster and cheaper, if you dont care too much for hooking up or doing internet stuff and just want to do tv/movies/gaming then go with an LED or if you dont care what the popular trendy thing to do is, get yourself a plasma, it will give you the best picture quality and wont break your bank.
