I am new to home theatre and need some help. I have a 5.1 (onkyo sr 600) system and according to the s?
to the testing procedures all speakers are hooked up correctly and working. The question is, am I suppose to be getting sound from the rear surrounds at all times? So far, I have heard nothing. What do I need to do?
Also is anyone familiar enough with this system to tell me how to get the Onyko remote to work my dvd (pioneer) and Samsung Plasma.
It depends on what you are watching. Not all T.V. programs are in Stereo or surround sound. Your Stereo should have an indicator display showing how many speakers are being used at the moment. Make sure your receiver is set to 5.1 . Most are set to 2.0 by default so you have to choose 5.1 on the menu. If you watch a lot of old movies many are single speaker output. Bottom line: The speaker will only put out sound when there is A signal present to that speaker. Your display should show 5 little squares saying LF,C,RF,LS,RS,and SW.
